Project 365

So I recently heard about Project 365, where you take a picture everyday for a year. I thought it would be a fun way to document day to day life. I started a month late, but here we go:























I'm trying doing this with my phone, so we'll see how this goes!

Sneak peak

Dear Grace,
We had your first birthday party last Saturday. It was a lot of fun and you had all your cousins there and all your aunts and uncles and grandparents except for Uncle Ryan and Uncle Lee. Here are a few pictures and I'll put more later. Love you!

One year old!

Dear Grace,
It's hard to believe that you are a year old already!!  Your actual birthday was 2 days ago.  I know you didn't know that it was your birthday, but your daddy and I sure remembered!  You actually got to spend your birthday at home with Daddy because you were sick the night before.  I think it was just something that you ate because you were fine all day.  I'm sorry it's been a couple months since I updated this blog!  Time just goes so fast!  You are growing and changing so much!  I thought I'd write things a little different this time. 

Things that you are doing:

• Pulling yourself up on everything that you can!
• Crawling with your knees instead of just scooting across the floor.  You cover ground quite quickly!
• Sleeping through the night!
• Eating pretty much the same food as Mommy and Daddy
• Dancing!
• Babbling a lot and saying "mama" and "dada"
• Clapping when we say the word "clap"
• Waving "bye bye" and "hi" (you usually wave with both hands)

Things that you like:

• Doing all the things mentioned above
• Peaches (especially Grandma Jan's canned peaches)
• Paper (I think this was your favorite part of Christmas!)
• Music
• Books.  You actually look and the book and turn the pages instead of just chewing on it now!
• Playing peek a boo
• Your cousins.  Kylee and Kody are staying with us this weekend and you just love watching them and playing with them! 
• Rubbing food in your hair
• Playing in the tub

Things that you don't like:

• Getting in your carseat
• Putting your pajamas on

You are such a blessing to your daddy and me!  We love you, Grace!  Happy Birthday!

Lots of new things

Dear Grace,
You are doing so many new things these days!  It is so fun to see what you are learning to do.  A few days ago you waved "bye bye" for the first time!  You now do it pretty consistently.  It is so cute!  The other day I dropped you off at daycare and said "bye bye" and you just kind of flicked your hand at me like you were saying, "fine I'll do it, Mom, but I don't have to like it!"  A couple weeks ago you figured out how to get yourself from laying down to sitting up.  I looked at you and you were on your tummy on the floor and then I looked again and you were sitting up!  Then a couple days later I actually saw you do it yourself.  Now you are a pro and doing it all the time!  I think you are also figuring out how to do "so big!"  This morning you did it a couple times.  It is very fun! 

You still scoot around to get places.  You scooted all the way across the dining room floor the other day.  You are quite fast!  You scooted across the bathroom floor to the door stop thing and had a great time flicking it!  Of course you shut the door first so that you could get at it better.  =)  Here's a video of it:

You also found the shades by the patio door a few days ago.  I was doing something in the kitchen and didn't see you at first.  Then I realized that you had scooted over there, sat yourself up and you were playing with the shades.  I got a video of that, too:



You are very close to pulling yourself up to stand, too.  You are definitely thinking about it and trying.  It won't be long!  It is so fun to watch you grow and develop.  I can't believe you will be 10 months old tomorrow already!  Time sure flies!  I love you, sweet girl!!
